Tra gli eventi milanesi a cui ho partecipato, non poteva mancare il cocktail più esclusivo che si è tenuto venerdì 24 febbraio presso il Bulgari Hotel & Resorts per presentare la “collezione Serpenti”. Un atmosfera elegante ha accolto gli invitati tra cui designer, modelle e artisti e alla consolle il gruppo islandese Gus Gus ha regalato un mix di musica house ed elettronica. La collezione Serpenti è stata lanciata negli anni ’50 e in questi ultimi due anni è stata riproposta con borse, collane, bracciali, orologi, in cui ogni accessorio ha una testa di serpente realizzata con smalti policromi e impreziosita da pietre dure: malachite, lapislazzulo e ametista. La serpe diventa fonte d’ispirazione per materiali e forme utilizzate, in particolare per le borse, che pare diventeranno uno dei must have del prossimo autunno inverno; l’impatto visivo è fortissimo sia nella clutch, da indossare a tracolla, in cui il capo del rettile diventa la chiusura gioiello, sia nella versione più grande con i manici rigidi, che ricordano la coda di quello a sonagli con maxi scaglie bianche e nere che si avvitano a spirale. Il serpente non si limiterà a chiederci di cogliere una mela, ma ci proporrà di indossare una borsa e cadere in tentazione, anche questa volta, sarà inevitabile…

Among the many MFW events I took part in, I couldn’t miss the most exclusive cocktail party of all that took place on Friday February 24 at the Bulgari Hotel&Resorts to showcase the “Serpenti collection”. A luxury atmosphere welcomed the guests, designers, models and artists entertained by a DJ-set performed by the Icelandic Gus Gus band playing house and electronic music. The Serpenti collection was launched in the 50s’ and over the past two years, it has been revived with bags, chains, bangles and watches, every single accessory has a snake head on it made up of coloured glaze and precious stones: malachite, lapis lazuli and amethyst. Snakes as the source of inspiration for materials and shapes that are bound to become a must-have for the next fall winter season; the visual impact is definitely strong, both that of the shoulder- clutch where the snake head becomes the precious clasp of the bag itself and in the larger bag with rigid handles, that recall the tail of a rattlesnake with maxi flakes in black and white screwing in a spiral. An apple does not work with this kind of snake: we will be lured by a bag and fall into temptation, once again, helplessly…
