Sant’Ambrogio ormai si avvicina e per le vie di Milano si respira aria natalizia, si respira aria di “Prima” alla Scala. E’ dal 1951, da quando la Callas ebbe il suo trionfo milanese in questo importante teatro, che è consuetudine inaugurare la stagione lirica il 7 dicembre. Non è solo una serata di gran gala, ma una vera istituzione, un evento mondano e culturale profondamente radicato nella vita italiana. Questa volta sarà l’opera romantica di Wagner, Lohengrin, ad andare in scena. E’ la storia del personaggio principale, che dà il titolo al componimento, il cavaliere del cigno, uno dei custodi del Santo Graal, e delle sue vicende amorose con Elsa, figlia del duca di Brabante, accusata ingiustamente di aver ucciso il fratello che in realtà è stato tramutato in cigno da un maleficio. Come riuscirà l’eroe a trarla in salvo dal suo destino lo lascio scoprire a voi, ciò che è certo è che vi servirà un abito adeguato per questa occasione. The patron day of Sant’Ambrogio in Milan is approaching, Christmas is in the air, and the Teatro alla Scala “Première” is in the air too. Since 1951, when Maria Callas had her great success in this important theatre in Milan, it is customary to inaugurate the season on December 7. Not only a gala night but a veritable institution, a fashionable and cultural event, deeply rooted into the Italian tradition. This year it will be the time for Wagner’s romantic opera, Lohengrin. It is the story of Lohengrin, the main character, the Knight of the Swan and one of the guardians of the Holy Graal, and his love affair with Elsa, the daughter of the Duke of Brabant, who is unduly accused of having murdered her son who, actually, was transformed into a swan by a magic spell.
