Ormai non abbiamo più tempo per niente, ma pare che per i regali di Natale non vogliamo gettare la spugna, il tempo per quelli abbiamo ancora necessità di trovarlo… perché il pacchetto da mettere sotto l’albero conserva ancora un pizzico di magia. Il regalo di Natale è un po’ come una di quelle vecchie lettere d’amore scritte a mano per il piacere di scriverle, per il piacere di imbucarle, per il piacere di rimanere ad aspettare una risposta impazienti… e la cosa interessante di quella risposta che si aspetta non è il regalo di rimando, ma la reazione di chi lo riceve…che se lo aspetti oppure no. Vi è mai successo? Di arrivare la sera della vigilia, di fare un rapido elenco per controllare di non aver dimenticato nessuno? Addirittura di esservi ricordati anche di chi non vedete da tempo per fargli una gran sorpresa e di essere poi presi alla sprovvista, a vostra volta, da qualcuno che a voi ci ha pensato…e voi no…? Come ho potuto dimenticarmene? Come, invece, lui se n’è ricordato? Il Natale è bello per questo…perché ogni piccolo pacchetto nasconde una sorpresa… a volte si da, a volte si riceve e non sempre si scarta.

We have no time in our frantic lives, but it seems that we don’t want to throw Christmas gifts in the sponge, We have to find time for Christmas presents… As gifts under the Christmas tree still have a touch of magic. Christmas gifts are a bit like those hand-written love letters, for the pleasure of writing them, the pleasure of posting them, the pleasure of impatiently waiting for a reply… and the interesting thing about it is that the reply we’re waiting for is not a gift but the reaction of the person who receives it….whether they expect it or not. Has it ever happened to you? On Christmas eve, while doing a quick check to make sure you haven’t forgotten anybody, even those people you haven’t seen for ages and be caught off-guard, by someone who has thought about you…and you haven’t…?!? How could I forget? How could he/she remember? This is the magic of Christmas….even the smallest parcel of all hides a surprise… Sometimes you do it, sometimes you get it, you don’t always need to unwrap it.
