DI MATTEO MANZINI Finalmente gli Oscar della moda sono arrivati… L’evento fashion più importante dell’anno è stato celebrato lunedì 7 maggio al Metropolitan Museum of Arts di New-York. Questa volta l’esibizione è stata dedicata a due delle creatrici di moda più influenti di tutti i tempi: Elsa Schiapparelli e Miuccia Prada! Schiapparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversation è il titolo del Costume Institute Gala, diretto dal celebre regista australiano Baz Luhrmann, famoso per “Romeo+Giulietta” con Leonardo di Caprio, “Moulin Rouge” con Nicole Kidman e i più recenti “Australia” e “The Great Gatsby”, un’ipotetica conversazione tra le due creatrici che hanno rappresentato l’apoteosi della creatività e dello stile, diventando icone e leggende viventi, e che è stata proiettata durante la serata con un risultato fenomenale. (Il ruolo della rediviva Elsa è stato interpretato dall’attrice Judy Davis). L’esibizione si focalizza sulle affinità e sui punti di forza di queste due italiane DOC, che pur essendo vissute in epoche differenti, esplorano temi similari utilizzando approcci completamente diversi… come le plissettature, le stampe iconiche, i metalli utilizzati come ricami, il genere naif, il genere ugly-chic. All’evento erano presenti i personaggi più rilevanti del fashion business e del cinema, capeggiati da una luminosa ed entusiasta Anna Wintour, in un abito customizzato per lei dalla stessa Miuccia in onore di Elsa Schiapparelli! Tra le nostre favorite sono da annoverare Carey Mulligan in un Prada metallizzato con squame, Marina Abramovic in un tuxedo di Givenchy, Miuccia Prada in un hot look per il prossimo inverno e Bianca Brandolini D’Adda in un Dolce&Gabbana strabiliante!!! BY MATTEO MANZINI Finally the Oscars of fashion have come…. The most important fashion event of the year was celebrated on Monday may 7 at the Metropolitan Museum of Arts in New York. This year the exhibition has been dedicated to two of the most influential fashion designers of all times: Elsa Schiapparelli and Miuccia Prada! Schiapparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversation Is the title of the Costume Institute Gala, directed by the renowned Australian film director Baz Luhrmann, famous for his films such as “Romeo+Giulietta” starring Leonardo di Caprio, “Moulin Rouge” with Nicole Kidman and the most recent ones, “Australia” and “The Great Gatsby”, a hypothetic conversation between the two fashion designers who represent the climax of creativity and style becoming icons and living legends, the film was projected during the gala night and obtained a great success. (Elsa’s role interpreted by actress Judy Davis). The exhibition focused on the shared vision of these two Italian designers, who, despite having lived and worked in a different era, have explored similar themes yet using completely different approaches… plissé and pleats, iconic prints, metals used as embroidery, naïf, ugly-chic style. Celebrities and operators in fashion and cinema took part to the event, headed by a brilliant and excited Anna Wintour, who was wearing a customised Prada’s outfit celebrating Elsa Schiapparelli’s style! Our favourites were Carey Mulligan in a metallised Prada outfit, Marina Abramovic in a tuxedo by Givenchy, Miuccia Prada in her next winter hot look and Bianca Brandolini D’Adda wearing an amazing Dolce&Gabbana!!!
