Tessuti couture prendono pieghe piatte e plissée, si colorano di nuance tropicali abbinate tra loro in contrasto e si uniscono a ricami artigianali fatti di cristalli, metalli, fili d’oro per illuminare questa città buia e desolata, che è venuto il momento di lasciare per raggiungere mete più suggestive… forse Palm Springs, forse Segesta, ma certamente sole e tranquillità non mancheranno. The setting is the city of Los Angeles, in 2019, the scenery is that of Blade Runner, a foggy landscape, a veiled sun, modern skyscrapers close to ancient buildings, the neo-classic inspiration of the designer comes to life with the image of a brave woman wearing the typical clothes of the Greek-roman culture, but at the same time perfectly integrated into contemporary living… Her man-style blazer is like an armour, not a mere plate that protects her during her fights in the arena but also a protection for her breast during a football match where she captures the attention with an acrobatic performance, dancing and waving her pompoms. Couture fabrics with plissé and flat pleats, coloured with tropical shades in contrast and combined with hand-made embroiders made of crystals, metal and golden yarns to light up this dark and desolate city that she is bound to leave to reach more alluring landscapes… Maybe Palm Springs, or Segesta, but surely sun and relaxation will be her companions. This time, Fausto Puglisi’s muse is a Greek Goddess…. Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty? Or Ecate, the goddess of the dark night, of magic and spells? Maybe both….materialised in the portrait of a contemporary woman with an unmistakeable style.
