Nessuno crede più alla storia che “non è un capello, ma è un crine di cavallo finito sul gilet” e prima o poi capita di essere vittime o carnefici di un tradimento. L’argomento appassiona tutti, nel bene e nel male, lo si tratta nei testi delle canzoni, nelle trame dei film… quanti esempi di infedeltà ci ha regalato il cinema? Quando ci troviamo di fronte alla scena di un tradimento non sappiamo come reagire, non sappiamo se ridere, sorridere o disperarci, chiedendoci: Come può avermi fatto questo? Come posso avergli fatto questo? Il tradimento maschile, anche se generalmente è quasi sempre tollerato e perdonato, nei film resta sempre il più struggente…l’infedele diventa il bastardo in questione. Il più vile? Sicuramente se la giocano Carlo ne “L’ultimo bacio” e Gerry di “Sliding Doors”. Il primo, colpito da una prematura crisi di mezza età, tradisce Giulia, dalla quale aspetta un bambino, e, al tempo stesso, le aspettative della giovane amante che di lui si innamora perdutamente, ma che rimane con un pugno di mosche e un libro di Siddharta, dopo che Carlo trova il coraggio di confessarle che ha sbagliato e che ciò che desidera davvero è riprendersi Giulia, la loro vita insieme e il pupo in arrivo. L’esempio perfetto di come stecchirne due in un colpo solo…bravissimo!!! “Sliding Doors” ci svela che la vita è fatta di coincidenze, perdere la metro può avere importanti ripercussioni sul futuro, un semplice ritardo può farci scoprire la triste verità: un uomo che ti tradisce con la sua ex, ma a volte si chiude la porta della metropolitana e si apre il portone di una nuova vita, in cui si lascia chi ha il “grilletto” facile in cambio di chi sa ricambiare con eterna fedeltà. Ma anche noi ragazze ne abbiamo combinate delle belle… pensate all’inizio di “Love Actually” in cui l’attraente scrittore Jamie Bennett, interpretato da Collin Firth, esce di casa dopo aver salutato la moglie, rientra per recuperare qualcosa che ha dimenticato e trova suo fratello in evidente imbarazzo, mentre lei dalla stanza da letto, ignara del suo rientro, sta urlando: “Muoviti, prendi i preservativi…prima che torni lo sfigato!” Tutti ci siamo messi a ridere…ed è curioso che a volte prevalga la comica tragicità della situazione, piuttosto che la tragedia in quanto tale. Ci sono donne che per aver tradito il marito hanno scatenato una delle guerre più famose della storia… un nome? Elena…di Troia…non solo di nome a quanto pare! In “Unfaithful – L’amore infedele”, è l’amante sexy e aitante a pagare le spese dell’adulterio della moglie fedifraga e ad un prezzo piuttosto alto…muore ammazzato dal marito tradito. In “Proposta indecente” il poveraccio di turno subisce l’umiliazione di vedere la moglie sparire con Rockefeller per pagare l’affitto di casa, ma con il suo consenso…l’esempio perfetto di cornuto, soddisfatto e rimborsato. La stessa Giulia, de “L’ultimo bacio, chiude il film facendo gli occhi dolci al suo compagno di jogging. Insomma chi la fa, l’aspetti! E la domanda sorge spontanea: “INFEDELI SI NASCE O SI DIVENTA?” L’infedele cronico tradisce per una sorta d’impulso che non riesce a controllare o può redimersi e diventare fedele? E il fedelissimo, invece, è incapace di tradire qualsiasi sia la “buona occasione” che gli si presenta o a volte per vendetta impara a ripagare con la stessa moneta? Difficile a dirsi, ma il tradimento resta la prova del nove in un rapporto: “Una volta è stato detto: se vuoi qualcuno a tutti i costi lascialo libero, se torna da te è tuo per sempre…se non lo fa, allora, tanto per cominciare non è mai stato tuo!

Nobody believes in the story “it’s not a hair but a horsehair” anymore and, sooner or later in our life, it can happen to be the victim or tormentor of unfaithfulness. This topic fascinates everybody regardless of the point of view, It has been dealt with in song lyrics, films… How many examples of unfaithfulness have we seen in films? We don’t know how to react in front of a scene of a betrayal, we don’t know whether to laugh, smile or despair, wondering: How can he/she has done this to me? How can I have done this to him/her? Men’s unfaithfulness, even if generally more tolerated and forgiven, in films is always the most tormenting….the unfaithful becomes the bastard. The basest betrayal of all? Surely, we can mention Carlo, the protagonist of “The last kiss” and Gerry in “Sliding Doors”. The former, victim of a premature mid-life crisis, betrays Giulia, who is pregnant and, at the same time, he lets her young lover down, who has fallen in love with him and finds herself empty handed with a Siddharta book, when Carlo tells her that he has made a mistake and he only wants Giulia, their life together and their baby. The perfect example of how to despatch two women with a single stab….just perfect!!! “Sliding Doors” teaches us that life is nothing but coincidence, missing a train can have important after-effects on our future, a delay can reveal us the truth: a man who betrays you with his ex-girlfriend, but sometimes, while the train door closes, the door of a new life opens, a life in which you let those who are “trigger-happy” down and you find eternal faithfulness. Girls have played dirty tricks too… Let’s think of “Love Actually” in which the charming writer Jamie Bennett, starring Colin Firth, leaves home in the morning as usual and he realises he has forgotten to take something, so he comes back and finds his brother, ill at ease, while his wife is saying: “Move on, get the condoms…before the jinxed comes back!” This is a hilarious scene…and it’s quite curious as sometimes the funny side of the situation prevails on the tragedy. Some women triggered off one of the most famous wars in history due to their unfaithfulness… A name? Helen of Troy….not bad….! In the film “Unfaithful”, the sexy and handsome lover pays dearly for the betrayal of the adulterous wife….he is killed by the betrayed husband. In “Indecent Proposal”, the poor husband is humiliated as he sees his wife having an affair with a Tycoon to pay for the house rent, but at least, he had given his consent before…the perfect example of a cuckold, satisfied and reimbursed. Giulia herself at the end “The last kiss” makes sheep’s eyes to her jogging companion. What goes around comes around! And I wonder: “UNFAITHFUL, BORN OR MADE?” Serial-unfaithful people betray for a sort of uncontrollable impulse, but can they redeem and become faithful? And what about faithful people, are they not able to betray at all, regardless of the “good occasions” they have, or can they learn to take a revenge and pay back betrayal with its own coin? Difficult to say but unfaithfulness is the “cross-check” of a relationship: “Once someone said: if you love somebody set them free, if they come back they will be yours forever…if they don’t, they have never been yours!”
