La giovane designer che vi presento oggi si chiama Giulia Rositani. Ho avuto il piacere di conoscerla a Milano durante l’ultima settimana della moda, le sue creazioni sono un vero concentrato di colori, le sue fantasie mettono allegria, voglia di vivere e non sono altro che i suoi dipinti trasportati su tessuto per diventare le stampe della collezione. Ogni volta che mi innamoro di qualcosa, non posso fare a meno di farmi domande sul talento che ho appena scoperto o, per meglio dire, di farle direttamente al talento in questione e così Giulia mi ha concesso una piccola intervista. . Ciao Giulia, spesso dipingere è un’esigenza, un modo per comunicare il proprio stato d’animo al resto del mondo. Quando hai pensato che i tuoi dipinti potessero diventare qualcosa da indossare? Io nasco come Textile designer, dipingere è la mia passione. Quando disegno viene fuori una parte di me che nessuno altrimenti potrebbe vedere, che nessuno si aspetta. Ho trasferito il mio mondo interiore su stoffa, sono partita fin dall’inizio con l’idea che i tessuti e i miei disegni sarebbero stati legati indissolubilmente. La grande difficoltà sta nell’unire i dipinti ai vestiti, per riuscire a valorizzare i primi, ma senza creare degli abiti importabili, ogni volta è una sfida trovare il giusto equilibrio. Cosa raccontano i tuoi disegni? Parlano di gioia e di poesia…gioia perchè ne abbiamo bisogno… E poesia perchè non sono solo disegni, ma piccoli mondi creati dalla mia fantasia in cui ci sono tanti personaggi che fanno parte di ricordi, luoghi e sogni. E tu? Cosa ci racconti di poetico e divertente? Una volta, entrando in uno dei negozi a cui vendo, ho visto una signora che provava uno dei miei abiti… Si guardava allo specchio e rideva soddisfatta per ciò che indossava e questo mi ha reso davvero felice. Cosa si prova ad essere una giovane designer? Essere una giovane designer oggi non è proprio il massimo della vita, sopratutto in Italia. Le difficoltà economiche stroncano tanti astri nascenti, non ci sono veri aiuti, anche i vari concorsi ti danno visibilità e basta, certo non è poco, ma il supporto economico è fondamentale… La moda è un business, per me creare una collezione significa anche poterla vendere, non può rimanere solo un trofeo da guardare con soddisfazione. Non voglio sembrarti pessimista, ma intraprendere questa strada è davvero molto difficile, i risultati si vedono nel lungo termine e nel frattempo bisogna lottare e non abbattersi. Cosa pensi del mondo dei blogger? Il mondo dei blogger a dirti la verità per me è un po’ sconosciuto, non li seguo molto, ma sono sempre felice quando mi dedicano un po’ di spazio ;-). Cosa non può mancare mentre disegni? Non possono mancare la musica, il computer, i fogli, i colori e soprattutto l’ispirazione. Il tuo sogno nel cassetto? Poter continuare a fare il mio lavoro, sperando che si aprano quelle porte che mi permetteranno di vendere in tutto il mondo. Ho lavorato sodo e tanto, credimi, nessuno mi ha regalato mai niente… ma tanti hanno apprezzato e capito il mio lavoro, per questo sono qui. Quindi il mio desiderio più grande è proprio quello di far crescere questo sogno e vederlo andare nella direzione giusta, un po’ come un figlio, ti auguri sempre il meglio per lui e poi ogni scarrafone…ed io al mio ci tengo molto :-)! . The young designer I am introducing today is Giulia Rositani. I had the pleasure to meet her in Milan during the recent fashion week, her creations are a concentrate of colours, her printed patterns are cheerful and lively and represent her paintings transferred onto fabrics to become the prints of her fashion collection. Every time I fall in love with something, I can’t help wondering about the talent, the flair of the designer, or better, I can’t help asking questions to the designers themselves and Giulia kindly granted me an interview. . Hi Giulia, painting is often an urge, a way to communicate our thinking to the rest of the world. When did you imagine your paintings as fashion pieces? I have always worked as a textile designer, art and painting is one of my passions. When I paint I can reveal a part of me that would never be revealed otherwise, an unexpected side of me. I’ve transferred my inner world onto fabrics, I started with the idea that textiles and paintings would have been an indissoluble tie. The major difficulty was to combine paintings to clothes in order to exalt the art pieces At the same time creating easy-to-wear dresses, finding the right balance is always a challenge. What are your paintings about? They tell about joy and dream…joy as we need it… And dream as they are not only paintings but tiny worlds created by my fantasy Populated by characters that belong to my memories, places and dreams. And what about you? Can you tell us something funny and poetic about you? Once, in shop selling my creations, I saw a lady who was trying one of my dresses on… She was looking at herself in the mirror and she was smiling, She was happy with her dress and this really made me happy too. What does it mean being a young designer nowadays? Being a young designer today is not always the best, especially in Italy. Financial problems squash future talents, there is no support, the various contests are useful for visibility, and this means a lot, but financial support is of vital importance… fashion is a business, creating a collection also means selling it, it can’t be just a trophy to show off. I don’t want to appear pessimistic, but embarking on this adventure is really difficult, the results can be seen in the long term and meanwhile you need to fight and never surrender. What do you think of the fashion bloggers’ world? To tell the truth, I don’t know much about the world of fashion bloggers, I don’t follow these blogs a lot but I am always happy when they dedicate a post to me;-). What can’t be missing while you’re painting? Music, my pc, sheets, colours can’t be missing, but, above all, inspiration. Your secret wish? Being able to keep on with my work, Hoping in the opportunity to sell my products across the world. I’ve really worked hard, trust me, nobody has ever given me nothing for free… But a lot of people have appreciated my works, that’s why I’m here. My secret wish is that of make this dream grow bigger, Follow the right direction, it’s a bit like having children, you always wishes the best for them, mother’s love…and I care for mine a lot:-)! .
