Icona pop!

Diciamoci la verità, mica nasciamo tutti come Indiana Jones che si mette in viaggio per recuperare un antico idolo della fertilità, pietre sacre in un tempio maledetto, teschi di cristallo o addirittura il Santo Graal, c’è anche chi, come me, vive la sua buona dose d’avventura facendo un check-in in aeroporto, prende un aereo e dopo un volo si prefissa di raggiungere un semplice obbiettivo. Una volta arrivata a Londra, il mio era quello di portarmi a casa una bella Varsity Jacket! Certo, Steven Spielberg non mi farebbe girare nemmeno uno spot pubblicitario, ma io l’ho trovata, quasi per caso, e mai avrei sperato in una così particolare! Ero a spasso per Brewer Street, entro in questo negozio che si chiama Machine-A, dò un’occhiata, sto per uscire, quando Matte mi dice di andare a vedere una maxi maglia colorata nella seconda sala dello shop, vado e sullo stesso stander, accanto a lei, c’è proprio la mia giacca…E’ una vera icona pop! E’ di Joyrich, che ha realizzato questa capsule utilizzando l’arte pop per eccellenza del famosissimo e purtroppo scomparso pittore e writer statunitense Keith Haring. Ho deciso di fotografarla qui, dove l’ho comprata, spero mi perdonerete il look imperfetto e un po’ spettinato, ma, onestamente, stavo per ripartire…una nuova avventura mi stava aspettando: prendere un’altro aereo che mi riportasse a casa…e chi mi conosce sa bene che per me non è certo una cosa da poco ;-)!

Let’s tell the truth, we are not all like Indiana Jones setting off for an adventurous journey to save an ancient fertility idol, sacred stones in a cursed temple, crystal skulls or even the Sacred Graal. There is even someone, like me, who lives the right amount of adventure simply with a check-in at the airport, get on a flight and after it, just has one goal in the mind. Once in London, mine was that of bringing home a Varsity Jacket! Of course Steven Spielberg would never choose me even for a TV ad, but I found my jacket, almost by chance, and it is even better than I expected! I was strolling in Brewer Street, got in a shop called Machine-A, and after a quick look I was getting out when Matteo told me to have a look at colourful maxi T-shirt in another room of the shop, I went and on the same hanger, next to the T-shirt, I saw “her”, my jacket…a real pop icon! It is by Joyrich, who designed this capsule collection using the pop art par excellence, that of the renowned American artist and writer Keith Haring. I immediately decided to take a picture of my piece there, in the shop where I bought it, sorry for my imperfect, a little “messy” look but I was going to take my flight back….and a new adventure was just waiting: another flight to take me back home…and those who know me are well aware that is not an easy task for me ;-)!
