THE PERFECT BAG DOESN’T EXIST!

C’è chi predilige quelle grandi e capienti, chi, per questioni di comodità e di aspetto, preferisce quelle più piccole e c’è chi, invece, non può fare a meno di collezionarle tutte, spaziando da maxi a mini con grandissima facilità. Avrete capito che io faccio parte dell’ultima categoria e posso garantirvi che è inutile girarci intorno…LA BORSA PERFETTA NON ESISTE! Quando decidi d’indossarne una di piccole dimensioni, che sia una clutch o una handbag, devi sempre fare i conti con lo spazio, un po’ come se fosse una questione di vita o di morte in cui devi scegliere quali sono i “generi di prima necessità” da portarti dietro: portafoglio, chiavi della macchina, chiavi di casa, sigarette, accendino, cellulare, occhiali da sole, rossetto…impresa impossibile! Quindi, dal portafoglio levi una manciata di soldi, la carta di credito e la patente, le chiavi di casa le tieni in mano e le metti in tasca o nel vano portaoggetti dell’auto. Le sigarette, al massimo 3 con accendino, togli la cover al telefono, gli occhiali li infili sulla testa, lasciando a casa la custodia, e per finire il rossetto. Incastri tutto come in una partita a tetris e voilà…ecco pronto il pacchetto per la vita! Se invece decidi d’indossare una borsa capiente, puoi abusare di tutto lo spazio sacrificato nella puntata precedente ed esagerare con: portafoglio ripristinato nelle condizioni iniziali, chiavi di casa, chiavi della macchina, 2 pacchetti di sigarette, 3 accendini, fiammiferi di scorta, telefono con cover incorporata, custodia degli occhiali da sole, 4 rossetti tra cui poter scegliere, bottiglia d’acqua perché bere fa bene alla salute, spuntino pomeridiano che aiuta ad accelerare il metabolismo, merenda dei bambini per il doposcuola, chewing-gum e deodorante. Credi di essere più tranquilla quando puoi contare sulla borsa di Mary Poppins, ma non è così! Per trovare le chiavi rischi d’impazzire e quando suona il cellulare, perché sempre succede, non riesci a trovarlo in mezzo a così tante cose. Se avessi un euro per ogni sbuffata che fai ogni volta che tenti di tirar fuori qualcosa dalla borsa, saresti la più ricca del pianeta! Sempre troppo grande, sempre troppo piccola, la perfezione dove sta? Ma alla fine cosa può definirsi davvero perfetto? Ti innamori di una “cosa” perché ti piace così com’è, coi suoi pregi e i suoi difetti, ed “essere innamorati è come essere un vaso di coccio in mezzo a tanti vasi di ferro sul trenino delle montagne russe”…

THE PERFECT BAG DOESN’T EXIST– Some go for large bags, others, for reasons of comfort and appeal, opt for the small ones and others can’t help collecting them all, ranging from maxi to mini bags without giving a damn. As you can easily understand I’m part of this third category and I can assure you there’s nothing to do about it…THE PERFECT BAG DOESN’T EXIST! When you decide to wear a small one, either a clutch or a handbag, you always need to consider the question of available space, a vital issue as you have to choose what is “essential” and can’t be left home: wallet, car-keys, home-keys, cigarettes, lighter, mobile, sunglasses, lipstick…mission impossible! So, we take some money out of the wallet, credit card, and driving licence, we hold the keys in our hands and then in our pocket or we leave them in the car, cigarettes issue: a maximum of 3 with lighter, we remove the cover from our mobile, we wear sunglasses on our head and then the necessary lipstick. We lock everything in as if a tetris game and voilà…here is our life-saving package! Fingers crossed in the hope that no one will call us not to change the perfect settings of all items in the bag and if our mobile rings we pretend not to hear it. If, on the other hand, we opt for a maxi bag we can use and abuse the available space and exaggerate: complete wallet, car and home keys, 2 packets of cigarettes, 3 lighters and some matches too, mobile with its cover on, sunglasses case, 4 lipsticks to choose from, a bottle water for our wellness, a snack to accelerate our metabolic system, snacks for the children, chewing-gums and PC that is now an integral part of modern human beings. We think that this sort of Mary Poppins’s bag will make us feel at ease, also bringing some cloth hangers, but it’s not true:-(! To find our keys we go crazy and when the phone rings, as it always happens, we can’t find it among this pile of stuff and to extract an item we dig exactly like dogs looking for bones. If we had a penny for every puff and pant we do, we would be millionaires! Always too big, always too small, what’s the perfect size? But then, what is objectively perfect? We fall in love with “something” as it is…with its strengths and weaknesses…and “falling in love is a little bit like feeling a pottery amongst iron vases on the roller-coasters ” :-)!
