A 2.0 fairy tale…

Mi sono sempre chiesta come si fanno a scrivere le favole, quelle vere intendo, quelle in cui gli ingredienti necessari sono: principessa, principe, destriero, strega o mago cattivo, fata, poteri magici…e mi sono risposta che tanto facile non deve essere…come spieghereste altrimenti che Disney ne lancia una sola all’anno per Natale?!? Ma se decidessi di tentare, allora vorrei che fosse una favola ambientata ai giorni nostri, con i media, i desideri e i casini di oggi, per quanto riguarda i vestiti, beh, per quelli farei una piccola eccezione…le gonne voluminose, lo sapete, su di me esercitano sempre un certo fascino ;-)! La principessa, per esigenza di copione, non deve essere troppo sveglia, deve essere sbadata, ingenua, all’esigenza ribelle ed emancipata, ma senza esagerare, deve essere carina e deve rigorosamente avere un paio di scarpe che possano cambiarle la vita e, sopratutto, un sogno da realizzare. Il principe, invece, deve sapere il fatto suo, deve avere un sorriso super sexy e deve saper baciare, bene anche, altrimenti non può salvare la principessa. Non deve avere un cavallo, in mezzo al traffico rischierebbe di essere inseguito da un gruppo di animalisti che, una volta raggiunto, lo disarcionerebbe al primo semaforo, al contrario deve avere una macchina sportiva, cabrio se possibile, e deve essere astemio, se la polizia dovesse ritirargli la patente per guida in stato di ebrezza, rimarrebbe senza “destriero” e questo è anche peggio del pestaggio subito dal gruppo di animalisti. La strega o il mago cattivo…vediamo…data la quantità di soggetti che mettono i bastoni tra le ruote, c’è solo l’imbarazzo della scelta, il problema sta solo nell’identificare il più malvagio a cui assegnare la parte. La fata è anche solo la mamma o la Doubtfire del caso che, quando si è fuori per lavoro, fa trovare pronta la cena, stira le camicie o va a prendere i bambini a scuola. Poteri magici: quei fattori che fanno girare la ruota della fortuna o della sfiga, a seconda dei punti di vista, quegli agenti esterni di natura mistica ancora sconosciuta che hanno il potere di fare andare le cose come devono andare oppure da schifo, lasciando credere al soggetto interessato che quella magia è in realtà solo il fato. La verità è che scrivere una favola 2.0 è difficile perché manca la condizione necessaria, l’accessorio indispensabile della principessa in questione: il sogno! Non esiste principessa con un sogno soltanto, può avere milioni di scarpe, centinaia di vestiti, un principe che le sta accanto con una macchina familiare, ma mai un solo sogno! E ben vengano gli ostacoli che qualcuno, strega o mago che sia, le mette per strada per farle desiderare ancor più ciò che sta cercando. Le sue stesse capacità unite all’istinto sono i poteri magici e, in ogni favola che si rispetti se ancora di favola si sta parlando, è necessario conoscere bene le istruzioni, prima d’imparare a usarli correttamente. Nessun sogno per eccellenza=nessuna principessa! Perché uno solo non ci basta o perché è più spassoso rincorrerlo che averlo a portata di mano? Lascio a voi la sentenza, io ci sto ancora pensando…nel mio abito “regale”, con le mie scarpe da Cenerentola e con il mio computer che mi ha condotto fino alla fine di questa storia, permettendomi di fare ciò che più amo: scrivere :-)!

I’ve always wondered how you can write a fairy tale, a real one I mean, one in which the necessary ingredients are: a princess, a prince charming, a warhorse, an evil witch or magician, a fairy of course, and magical powers…and I realize that it’s not an easy task…if not so, how would you explain that Disney launches just one tale a year at Christmas time?!? But if I had to try, then I would like it to be a modern fairy tale, with media and today’s mess and desires, as for clothes, well, for them I can make an exception…you know, I’m so fond of wide skirts ;-)! Due to script reasons, the princess must not be too much clever, she must be careless, naïf, sometimes a rebel and emancipated girl without exaggerating, she must be pretty and must have a pair of shoes able to change her life and, above all, she must have a dream to fulfil. The prince charming instead must know where he’s going, he must have a sexy smile and must know how to kiss a girl or he would not be able to save the princess. He doesn’t need to have a horse or he would run the risk of being followed by a group of animalists who would reach him and unhorse him at the first traffic lights. On the contrary, he must be driving a sports car, better if a cabriolet, he must be teetotal as if the police stopped him for drink-driving he would lose his “horse” and this is worse than being beaten by the group of animalists. The evil witch or the magician…well…taking into consideration the number of people who specialise in creating trouble nowadays we just have to pick one, the problem is being able to identify the most evil of all. The fairy can be a mum or a Mrs. Doubtfire, someone who, when the princess is out at work, can cook the dinner, iron and pick up the children at school. Magical powers: those aspects that can bring you good or bad luck, depending on the circumstances, those external mystical agents able to make things go well or bad, letting the people believe that it’s all a question of destiny. The truth is that writing a 2.0 fairy tale is really difficult as the basic ingredient of the story is missing: the dream! A princess with just one dream doesn’t exist, she can have thousands of shoes, clothes, a prince charming who stands by her with his station wagon but never a dream! So, God bless obstacles that an evil witch or magician can put before her so she can long for what she is looking for. Her own skills and instinct are the real magical powers and, for every fairy tale that deserves this name, if we’re still talking about tales, it’s necessary to read the instructions first. No dream = no princess! Perhaps because we have more than one single dream or because it’s better to long for it than to have it at our disposal? I leave it you, I’m still thinking about the answer…in my “royal” dress with my Cinderella shoes and my PC that has led me to the end of this tale doing what I love most: writing :-)!
