Dopo 17 anni dalla terrificante “Fiki Fiki” di Gianni Drudi, oggi è tra i primi posti in classifica la nuova canzone degli Scissor Sisters LET’S HAVE A KIKI… Beh, se vi state chiedendo cosa sia il KIKI è presto detto, il significato non è molto diverso dal FIKI, ma volendo citare gli autori: “KIKI è una festa per calmare i tuoi nervi…” e certe cose dette in inglese hanno sempre un sapore diverso…decisamente più cool! Ma, testo a parte in cui le parolacce abbondano, il video merita davvero il primo posto di questo singolo. Via libera ai ricordi perché ad aprire le danze abbiamo la piccola Dorothy, Uomo di latta e Spaventapasseri, seguiti da una carrellata di attori e personaggi che hanno fatto la storia degli anni ’70 e ’80, e, in primo piano, il simbolo di quel periodo: la vita notturna delle “comunità metropolitane” che popolavano i templi storici della disco music… Lo Studio 54 di Manhattan diventa il “Club” della canzone, in cui ora la gente della notte chiude la porta e si muove a ritmo del KIKI, un mix tra il Vogue e qualsiasi altra danza improvvisata. Peter Falk, meglio conosciuto come il Tenente Colombo dallo strabismo di Venere, Burt Raynolds ne “La corsa più pazza d’America, John Travolta, John Cusack, Peter Stormare…il diabolico Dino Velvet di “8mm-Delitto a luci rosse, un po’ di percussioni su tamburi e falli smisurati, tanto per rimanere in tema, e via di nuovo…Mick Jagger, Boy George, Michael Keaton, uno splendido Bill Cosby in tenuta ginnica, Jeff Conaway nella sua “Greased lightnin'” di Grease, Grace Jones, Cher, Elizabeth Berkley, alias Jessie Spano di Bayside School, Jamie Lee Curtis, Don Johnson e i Queen in “I want to break free”. Riusciranno gli Scissor Sisters a rimpiazzare i vecchi Bee Jees con questo tormentone estivo? Oltre al video originale vi lascio anche un tutorial per imparare a ballare questo famigerato KIKI, ma non fatevi rimandare a Settembre…per questo potrebbe essere troppo tardi!

But, apart from bad language, the video clip of the track really deserves the first place. Green light to memories as Dorothy, the Tin Man and the Scarecrow open the dance, followed by a bird’s eye view of actors and characters who made the history of the 70s and the 80s. In close-up, the symbol of those years: the nightlife of “metropolitan cities”, the years of disco music and clubbing… Manhattan’s Studio 54 becomes the “Club” of music par excellence, A place where clubbers lock the doors and have a KIKI, A mix between the Vogue and another dancing. Peter Falk, better known as Lt. Columbo with his famous strabismus of Venus, Burt Reynolds in “Cannonball Run”, John Travolta, John Cusack, Peter Stormare…the demonic Dino Velvet of the film “8mm”, a bit of percussions on drums and giant penis, yes, that’s right, and again… Mick Jagger, Boy George, Michael Keaton, a marvellous Bill Cosby in his tracksuit, Jeff Conaway in his “Greased lightnin’” version, Grace Jones, Cher, Elizabeth Berkley, alias Jessie Spano of Bayside School, Jamie Lee Curtis, Don Johnson and the Queen in “I want to break free”.
