Anche quest’anno la notte degli Oscar della moda si è conclusa e anche questa volta, il tappeto rosso del Metropolitan Museum of Art di New York ha fatto la sua sporca figura. Un evento speciale per celebrare un grande stilista conosciuto come America’s First Couturier e una mostra a lui dedicata: “Charles James: Beyond Fashion“. A tagliare il nastro inaugurale di questo MET Gala è stata Michelle Obama e, insieme ad esso, anche quello di Anna Wintour Costume Center, un nuovo e scenografico spazio all’interno del museo stesso, una volta occupato dal The Costume Institute. La caratteristica che accomuna questi eventi così speciali non è tanto il dress code, ma quanto e come gli invitati di questo se ne freghino. “White-Tie“. Perfetto, capito! Per gli invitati di sesso maschile nessun problema e per quelli di sesso femminile? Se ne Il Gladiatore, Massimo diceva ai suoi soldati: “al mio via, scatenate l’inferno!” Qui Anna Wintour direbbe: “al mio via, fate un po’ come c***o vi pare!” E ci sta…nella moda ciò che conta è distinguersi, mica stare dentro agli schemi! Ma qualcuno è stato bravo, ha fatto bene i compiti ed ecco i nostri preferiti. Alla categoria Best Dresses abbiamo la campionessa indiscussa di stile, la sublime Sarah Jessica Parker con il suo Oscar de la Renta, a seguire Karolina Kurkova in Marchesa, Blake Lively in Gucci Premiere, Lily Aldridge in Michael Kors, Erykha Badu in Givenchy, Lupita Nyong’o in a Prada. Per la categoria Girlz VS Girlz, troviamo: le TopShop Girlz Jourdan Dunn, Toni Garr, Kendall Jenner. Le Stella Girlz: Cara Delevigne, Rihanna, Kate Bosworth, Reese Witherspoon e, per finire le Zac Posen Girlz: Dita Von Teese e Karen Elson. Ma la categoria che più ci ha divertito, è sicuramente quella della Best Hot-Couple: David Beckham, in a Ralph Lauren Black Label, e Victoria Beckham, in una delle sue creazioni, semplicemente divini e assolutamente a tema, seguiti da Sean Penn & Charlize Theron in Dior Couture, Jay-Z & Beyonce in Givenchy, Monica Bellucci & Roberto Bolle in Dolce&Gabbana, Riccardo Tisci & Naomi Campbell in Givenchy, Andrew Garfield & Emma Stone in Thakoon. Ultima, ma non per importanza, la coppia stellare formata da Kim Kardashian & Kanye West in Lanvin…quest’ultima merita anche il premio speciale della critica…rispetto alla scorsa edizione ha fatto passi da gigante ;-)!

Also this year the gala fashion night has come to an end and, also this year the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York has ruled. A special event to celebrate an important designer, known as America’s First Couturier and a dedicated exhibition: “Charles James: Beyond Fashion“. The MET Gala was opened by Michelle Obama together with the inauguration of the Anna Wintour Costume Center, a new spectacular space inside the museum itself which was once the location of t The Costume Institute. The typical characteristic of events like this is not only the dress code but the way guests don’t give a damn about it. “White-Tie“. Perfect, got it! No problem for men but what about women? If in a scene of The Gladiator movie, Maximus told his soldiers: “”at my signal, unleash hell!” here Anna Wintour would say: “at my signal,  please your fu** self!” and here we go…what really counts in fashion is the ability to make the difference and not to follow the rules! But some were good guys and here are our favs. For the category Best Dresses we have the unrivalled style champion, Sarah Jessica Parker in Oscar de la Renta, followed by Karolina Kurkova in Marchesa, Blake Lively in Gucci Premiere, Lily Aldridge in Michael Kors, Erykha Badu and Naomi Watts in Givenchy, Lupita Nyong’o in Prada. For the category Girlz VS Girlz, we find: the TopShop Girlz Jourdan Dunn, Toni Garr, Kendall Jenner. The Stella Girlz: Cara Delevigne, Rihanna, Kate Bosworth, Reese Witherspoon and, finally, the Zac Posen Girlz: Dita Von Teese and Karen Elson. But the category we have liked most is the Best Hot-Couple: David Beckham, in Ralph Lauren Black Label, and Victoria Beckham, wearing one of her creations, they were simply divine and perfect,  the silver medal goes to Sean Penn & Charlize Theron in Dior Couture, Jay-Z & Beyonce in Givenchy, Monica Bellucci & Roberto Bolle in Dolce&Gabbana, Riccardo Tisci & Naomi Campbell in Givenchy, Andrew Garfield & Emma Stone in Thakoon. Last but not least, the super hype couple: Kim Kardashian & Kanye West in Lanvin…and they also deserves a special prize…compared to last year’s edition, they have made great progress;-)!
