Shall we dance?

Adoro fare articoli a richiesta… Alla mia amica Chiara, due giorni fa, è venuta la brillante idea di chiedere ai suoi amici di Facebook, quale fosse la loro scena di danza preferita…e ne sono uscite delle belle… Lei è una ballerina, ma pensandoci, non è strettamente necessario saper ballare per innamorarsi di una scena di ballo, di un musical o di tutto ciò che riguarda la danza… si usa dire “Canta che ti passa!” e con il ballo è più o meno la stessa cosa, perché ballare è liberatorio, è uno scacciapensieri, un antidepressivo naturale… è musica…serve altro?!? La stessa musica che può portare un gruppo di “giovanotti”, mentre sono in coda all’ufficio di collocamento, a farne un lavoro, come in Full Monty! Insomma, in tutti questi anni di scene memorabili ne sono uscite tante, alcune di queste sono diventate classici, altre sono così divertenti, proprio perché ritraggono persone comuni che ballano per puro divertimento, che ci fanno dire: “cavolo, questa è bellissima, come ho fatto a non pensarci!” ma ognuna racchiude qualcosa di magico, di indimenticabile… qualcosa che ci porta a pensare a noi stessi, a un momento particolare della nostra vita in cui le abbiamo vissute, a un momento in cui abbiamo provato a ripeterle. Tra quelle proposte, sulla bacheca facebook di Chiara, le mie preferite sono: “Ain’t no mountain high enough” del film ” Nemiche Amiche” “Jump for my love” del film “Love Actually” “Little Bird” del film “Streaptease” Le mie…??? Ne ho proposte un po’, What a Felling di Flashdance, Hungry Eyes di Dirty Dancing, All or Nothing di Save the Last Dance, Town called Malice di Billy Elliott e Joyful Joyful di sister Act 2, ma ne ho tenuta una, una chicca per questo articolo, una scena a cui io e il mio amico Matteo siamo molto legati: “I say a little prayer for you” di “Il matrimonio del mio migliore amico”. Già, perché “forse non ci sarà matrimonio, forse non ci sarà sesso, ma, perdinci, ci sarà almeno il ballo!” E ora giro a voi la domanda… “Qual’è la vostra scena di danza preferita?”.

I love writing posts on demand… Two days ago, my friend Chiara had the brilliant idea to ask her Facebook friends what their favourite dancing scene was…and some nice tips came out… She is a dancer but you don’t need to be a performer to fall in love with ballet and musicals… There is an old saying “sing your troubles away!” that works the same way with dancing, because dancing is releasing, it sets you free, it’s a natural anti-depressive remedy….. It’s music….what else do we need?!? The same music that drove a group of men queuing for the dull to earn a living out of it in the film “Full Monty”! Movies have shown a myriad of dancing and ballet scenes and some of them have become tradition, others are simply amusing because they portray ordinary people who dance just for fun and make us say: “wow, that’s an amazing one how come I never thought of it before!” Every single scene has got something special, unforgettable…. Something that brings us back to the time of our life. Among Chiara’s favourites listed on her FB page, I would go for: “Ain’t no mountain high enough” from the film ”Stepmom” “Jump for my love” from “Love Actually” “Little Bird” from “Striptease” And what about my favourites…??? I suggested a few: “What a Feeling” from Flashdance, “Hungry Eyes” from Dirty Dancing, “All or Nothing” from Save the Last Dance, “Town called Malice” from Billy Elliott and “Joyful Joyful” from Sister Act 2, but my VERY SPECIAL ONE is a dancing scene, that myself and my friend Matteo are particularly fond of: “I say a little prayer for you”, a scene from “My best friend’s wedding”. Yes because.. maybe there won’t be marriage, maybe there won’t be sex but, by God, there will be dancing! And now it’s your turn…“what’s your favourite dancing scene?”.
