Quando ero piccola avrò imparato a memoria mille poesie, ma ad oggi me ne ricordo una soltanto…forse perché mio papà me la ripeteva come un disco rotto ogni volta che qualcosa non andava come volevo e tenevo il broncio! “Un sorriso non costa nulla, ma rende molto…Arricchisce chi lo riceve senza impoverire chi lo dona, non dura che un istante ma il suo ricordo è talora eterno. Nessuno è così ricco da poterne fare a meno, nessuno è così povero da non poterlo dare…non si può comprare, né prestare, né rubare, poiché esso ha valore solo nell’istante in cui si dona. E se poi incontrerete chi non vi dona l’atteso sorriso, siate generosi e date il vostro, perché nessuno ha tanto bisogno di sorriso come chi non sa darlo ad altri.” E come dimenticarla??? So che domani di sorrisi ne “scarterete” tanti, ma questo è il mio per augurarvi di cuore un Natale meraviglioso!!!!

When I was a child, I used to learn loads of poems by heart but now I can just remember one…perhaps because my dad repeated it times and times again every time something didn’t go the way I wanted and I sulked! “A smile costs nothing but gives much…it enriches those who receive it without making poorer those who give it. A smile only takes a moment but the memory of it can last forever. No one is so rich or so mighty that they can get along without a smile and no one is so poor that they cannot be made richer by a smile…it cannot be bought. begged, borrowed or stolen for it is of no value to anyone until it is given away. Some people are too tired to give a smile so give them one of yours as no one needs a smile so much as he who has no more of his own to give.” How can I forget about this??? I know that tomorrow you’ll “unwrap” many smiles but this is mine wishing you a merry Christmas!!!!
