“SPACE COWBOY” è la nuova collezione di LOUIS LEEMAN, presentata a Pitti Uomo qualche giorno fa. Se ancora non conoscete questo marchio, sarò felice di presentarvelo… Louis è olandese, Erica è italiana, si incontrano a Firenze a Polimoda, la famosa scuola di moda e design, lui è attratto dall’abilità dei sarti italiani, lei ha una vera passione per l’arte…entrambi sono alla ricerca di idee e tendenze. Nasce così una collaborazione tra i due per creare un prodotto di alta qualità, rigorosamente fatto a mano, ma dal sapore moderno che rompe gli schemi della tradizione. Per il prossimo autunno inverno Louis ed Erica si sono ispirati alla luna, al film diretto e interpretato da Clint Eastwood “Space Cowboys” e il motto è uno solo: i piedi non teneteli per terra, ma sulla luna! Chissà come deve essere camminare sul satellite del pianeta Terra? E cosa indossare ai piedi una volta sbarcati dalla navicella spaziale? Mocassini dalle linee geometriche con la suola spessa che consente maggiore aderenza al manto lunare, a cui sono applicati accessori preziosi e strutture metalliche, o comode sneakers con perline applicate. “Questo è il ritorno, del cowboy spaziale, zona interplanetaria di vibrazioni positive…e non penso di tornare giù…” Così cantava Jamiroquai e forse aveva ragione… quando la mente vola, anche i piedi mettono le ali e la gravità resta solo un dettaglio.

This is how it all started, they teamed up and created their own footwear collection: top quality, entirely hand-made pieces with a modern flair and breaking old patterns. For their new fall-winter collection Louis and Erica have gathered inspiration from the moon, in particular from “Space Cowboys”, a film directed by Clint Eastwood, and their motto is: don’t keep your feet on the ground, go for the moon! Can you imagine walking on the moon? And what kind of footwear would you fancy once landed? Moccasins with a geometrical shape and a thick sole, allowing for a better grip on the lunar surface, embellished with precious accessories and metal finishes, or comfy sneakers with bead applications. “This is the return, of the space cowboy, inter-planetary good vibe zone…and I don’t suppose I am coming down…” This is what Jamiroquai sang and maybe they were right… When your mind flies, your feet may have wings too and gravity would just be a small detail.
